Product Design

Interfaces that work as hard as the people using them.

We design complex product interfaces — dashboards, platforms, marketplaces, enterprise tools — with the usability, clarity, and polish that turns first-time users into daily users.

What We Design

We specialize in product design, not marketing design. The difference matters. Marketing design optimizes for first impressions. Product design optimizes for the thousandth interaction — when a physician is scheduling shifts at 2am, or a grid operator is monitoring power flow across 15 states.

Our work spans the full product design lifecycle:

UX Design

User flows, interaction models, and information architecture. We start with how people work and design interfaces that match their mental models — not the other way around. For complex products, we design role-specific views so each user type sees exactly what they need.

UI Design

High-fidelity visual design in Figma. Every screen, every state, every edge case. We design for the full spectrum: empty states, error states, loading states, first-time-user states, and power-user states. The main user flows get polish. The edge cases get attention. Both matter.

Design Systems

Reusable component libraries, spacing rules, typography scales, and color systems that ensure consistency as your product grows. For v1, this is lightweight and practical. For mature products, it's comprehensive and documented.

Interactive Prototyping

Clickable prototypes that let stakeholders and users experience the product before a line of code is written. We use prototypes for validation, user testing, and stakeholder alignment. They're also powerful sales tools — showing investors a working prototype is worth more than any slide deck.

Responsive & Accessible Design

Interfaces that work across devices and screen sizes, designed with accessibility in mind. For industries like healthcare and finance, accessibility isn't optional — it's a requirement.

How We Work

AI-Accelerated, Human-Directed

Our design process has evolved significantly with AI. We use tools like Claude Code to generate interactive React components directly from design feedback — producing functional prototypes in hours instead of days. We automate research synthesis, rapidly explore visual directions, and eliminate the traditional Figma-to-code translation step for many deliverables.

But the decisions are human. Knowing what to build, understanding why users behave the way they do, navigating the trade-offs between competing priorities — that's the work AI can't do. We use AI to move faster. We rely on experience and judgment to move in the right direction.

Partner-Led

Every design engagement is led by a co-founder with years of product design experience. You're not getting a junior designer supervised by a senior one. You're getting the senior person doing the work, making the decisions, and presenting the rationale.

Collaborative, Not Precious

We design in weekly sprints with regular client reviews. We share work early, incorporate feedback quickly, and iterate in the open. We have opinions and we'll push back when we think something won't work — but it's your product. Your conviction wins.

What We've Designed

AI-powered energy grid interfaces for operators managing power distribution across millions of customers. Role-specific dashboards for five distinct operator types, each with different data needs and workflows.

Physician scheduling platforms competing with $2B+ incumbents. Complex multi-role scheduling with compensation integration, shift-swapping, and contract compliance tracking.

Real estate marketplaces handling $800K+ in monthly transaction volume. Photographer-to-editor workflows, AI photo editing, geographic search, and membership management.

Banking platforms for community banks modernizing their digital experience. Complex navigation systems for professional financial interfaces.

Connected fitness experiences for hardware products. Dashboard design for workout tracking, social features, and device management.

Pricing

$5,000–6,000 per week for dedicated design work.

A typical design phase runs 2-8 weeks depending on the number of screens, the complexity of interactions, and whether we're building from existing wireframes or starting from scratch.

Most design engagements are preceded by a Discovery sprint that defines the scope and establishes the design direction. Design and development often overlap — we start development on approved screens while continuing to design the remaining ones.

Design Doesn't End at Launch

Post-launch, user data reveals what's working and what isn't. We offer ongoing design support through monthly retainers for teams that need continued iteration, new feature design, and design system evolution.
